English is the study of language as an art form and medium of communication essential to human interactions, well-being, relationships, and employment. It uses a variety of texts, including novels, short stories, films, essays, non-fiction, and poetry to help students understand both the literal means of communication and the abstract value of communication in their own lives and in the world around them.
Effective communication relies not only on accurate grammar but on artistry and a mastery of the subtle meanings communicated in word choice and structure.
At J. Percy Page, English Language Arts is divided into several different paths.
